All gifts and skills are welcome. Let us help you find your place in a ministry of compassion and understanding.
Congregational Health Program
Promote wellness within the church family and the community, minister to persons with spiritual, emotional and physical needs.
Crafting Angles Sharing Together
To reach community crafters and connect church card makers with community-wide crafters, using creative gifts for the USA deployed military; GRACE Adoption; Waterloo ISD back-pack program; Monroe County Nursing Home support; FBC Congregational Health shut-in’s; and other intermittent crafting opportunities.
Harvest Blessings Community Garden
Using a small portion of the church’s tillable acreage, CONNECT with church families unable to have home gardens and to REACH out to the community by sharing horticulture knowledge, tillable ground, and garden bounties to community groups. We are in the process of developing a working relationship with the Waterloo Garden Club and the WISD High School Ag Department. We provided over-abundance of vegetables to church-wide meals and to community food pantries. We provide nursery-bedding for plantings to be transplanted in other community garden areas. One goal for the future is to coordinate with high-school students (both FFA and special-needs classes), for expanding sustainable food programs during economic down-times.
Multimedia incorporates several elements of communication: text, graphics, animation, sound, and video. When properly used, these elements enhance the total worship experience and give new freedom to the worshiper. While using multimedia in worship may be considered "pioneering" by some and "radical" by others, it is not just a fad. Multimedia in worship is a combination of art, technology, and spirit. Multimedia, when used properly, complements this personality instead of working against it as technology alone can do. But multimedia should not be confused with contemporary worship. That is the beauty of multimedia; it is easily customized to meet the dynamic needs of our church.
Music and Worship
Music has always been a form of worship. During our worship services, one will find our congregational singing is one of the important means of worship. A variety of music styles are used in our services from traditional hymns, contemporary christian worship music, to modern hymns, and many in between. Opportunities to serve in this ministry include singing in the seasonal choir, playing an instrument, or joining the praise and worship team. This ministry is welcome anyone who wishes to share their talent to praise God in music. Our music ministry is a great opportunity to use the talents God has given to each person in Christian service.
To glorify God and help people encounter Him by facilitating musical worship experiences. Each member of the ministry must allow themselves to be used by God to invite seekers into a relationship with Him and encourage and challenge believers to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
To provide opportunities for the Senior Adults to have times of fellowship, educational/fun trips, and places to serve others in the church.
Worship Enhancement provides visual images in the church to help connect the message, with seasonal events. Also, provides encouragement through edible treats and decorations for events.
